A successful fly fishing adventure begins long before we arrive. I draw upon many years of travel experience and in turn apply what I have learned in creating an itinerary that best suits the needs and requests of my individual clients. As your host, my objective is to create a positive fly-fishing trip that matches your aspirations and expectations. 

Extensive correspondence and logistical planning precede the actual travel dates. This, in its most basic terms usually involves working with and confirming all Transfer requirements when in country, coordinating with lodges, guides and staff as well as providing extensive and accurate up to the minute general pre trip information. Remember the 6 ‘ P’s ‘…….. Prior Planning Prevents Piss Poor Performance !! While I cannot control the weather and the seasons, I do know how best to put my clients in position for success.

What does “hosted” mean? Why join Greg on a hosted adventure?

“Hosted” simply means that I join you on the trip for logistical and technical support. When traveling to remote foreign locations there can be communication and travel challenges, so it is extremely helpful to have a host that knows the program well and has all the crucial contacts of the persons on the ground should there be a sudden and unexpected need. As your host, my primary objective is to provide a convenient and direct link to all aspects of the fishing and lodging program at your chosen destination. It can include many things— helping lodge be informed of personal needs outside the group dynamic, providing angler information to help guides and lodges with their daily planning, working with guides, fly fishing  instruction, communications, pairing you with the right partners, etc.—basically my job is to make things smooth, productive and fun.

Single Anglers & New Friends

For single anglers, signing up for a solo lodge trip it can be overwhelming. Sure, some prefer this solitude; most would rather share the experience with others. On my hosted trips, I bring singles and groups of anglers together. This means that you never show up and are the only client there. This translates into cost savings and a generally more enjoyable adventure. I mean, it’s kinda hard to brag about fish to yourself! 

This has been very successful in the past creating lasting friendships that continue far beyond this isolated single booking.

Travel Consulting (Un-Hosted)

Not all trips are personally hosted by me. I also consult on fly fishing travel and work with a number of guides, lodges and booking agents that I personally know. Every angler has a different level of experience and comfort with traveling to often wild locations and it is my goal to help insure their success whether booking with me or with other parties. 

The Promise

We cannot control mother nature or the unpredictability of the seasons but we can control the actual experience once at our chosen destination. This is where I plan to deliver on all my promises and guarantees to ensure each of my clients are able to personally benefit from 30 year dedication to international fly fishing.  

I have fished professionally in some of the worlds greatest fisheries. I own, guide and have managed lodges in a wide range of destination travel programs both saltwater and fresh, providing me a unique hands on perspective on designing individual travel programs.

I select my favorite times of year to fish at tested destinations and locations. My goal: to introduce my guests to great fishing, ensure expectations are met, with a personal goal to exceed those expectations wherever possible.. When you join one of these hosted trips, I will provide instruction and access to the information I have garnered over my career while fly fishing the worlds flats, oceans and rivers.

  • Estancia Del Zorro & Valley of the Moon

    December 6-13, 2025

    Incredible spring creek with easy wading. Brown trout dry fly action for the not-so-elusive brown trout.

    Join me and fly fish for both brown trout and rainbow trout at one of the worlds finest Spring creek programs. This is truly an incredible experience and a one of a kind opportunity because of the sheer volume of private water that is available to our anglers. For example, anglers will enjoy very productive dry fly fishing in spring creeks no wider than 2 feet in the morning and then in the afternoon fish a totally different system over the border in Argentina. Try your hand at attaining The International trout slam !! what is that you may ask ? , Well, to just add to the incredible diversity of this program anglers have the opportunity to catch a brown trout and a rainbow trout 20 inches or bigger on the same day in 2 different countries. This amazing experience is based out of Estancia Del Zorro Lodge in Coyhaique Alto, Chile. Dry Fly fishing at its finest.

  • Saltwater Bonefish Permit and Tarpon

    August 23-30, 2025

    Tail Inn Lodge, Espiritu Santu Bay, Mexico

    I shall be hosting a week long Permit bonanza at the worlds latest Permit lodge. Nestled in the small Village of Punta Herrero in the state of Quintana Roo lies this intimate 5 room lodge specializing in saltwater fly fishing. This lodge, only recently constructed in late 2024 is literally yards from the fishery. Management, staff and guides have a particular passion for chasing permit. As a permit addict myself this is a true permit location and one I am so looking forward to sharing with all my anglers both existing and new. Add in great fly fishing for abundant Bonefish and back country spots for snook and baby tarpon, anglers should also consider this as a great all round fishery for the  ‘ Big 4 ‘ species. This time of year provides some seasonal variations in the fishery and lends itself well to chasing permit and is why I have chosen these dates in particular. Experienced and dedicated guides will pick you up outside your room each morning so there is no lag between finishing your breakfast and heading full speed to the flats. Authentic Mexican cuisine is the chefs specialty with fresh seafood a constant theme on the menu. A Local sustainable  source of seafood is delivered to the lodge almost daily with seasonal variations in choices determining much of the menu. Fresh fruits are all sourced locally and again are brought in on peak seasonal abundance and ripeness. This is a must for anglers whether experienced or are looking for their first saltwater fly fishing experience. There is something for everyone at this wonderful new lodge.

  • Cienaga de Zapata Bonefish, Permit & Tarpon

    October 18-25, 2025

    Flats fishing: Bonefish, Tarpon, Permit, Snook.

    Duration of trips ? From short 4 night / 3 fishing day trips to Full week of fishing.

    This is a grand slam opportunity for anglers to experience all 3 of the saltwater’s finest gamefish. Bonefish, Permit and tarpon, Add in a snook and you have the potential for the super Grand Slam. These are perfect dates to target all 4 of the species. The uniqueness of this program is that all my guests will be staying at a land-based operation that allows for full integration with the people of Cuba. Enjoy not only the incredible fishing but also enjoy the ability to interact daily with locals and experience the wonders of Cuban culture first-hand. Fly fish the protected waters of the national park of Cienaga De Zapata. This is a fully protected catch and release fishery in the heart of Cuba’s south coast flats and an ecosystem like no other. One other unique aspect of this trip is that it is also available for shorter trips than the full week. A 4 night 3 fishing day trip is also available as is a 5 night / 4 fishing day trip. Only a short 2 hr 20 minute drive from Havana international airport and this makes it the most convenient and easily accesses trip for anglers in all Cuba.. Fish with experienced guides on modern hi teck skiffs built n the USA. This will be my 24th year fishing this unique part of Cuba.

  • Chile - Trophy Brown Trout

    If migratory run trophy brown trout is something of interest to you then this is the trip for you. This amazing new program can be a dedicated trip or can be aranged as a combination trip with Cinco Rios in Coyhaique.. Fish the amazing Rio Boca Cerrada. Anglers can swing flies, strip streamers or skate flies for large brown trout that are at times savage takers of the fly. This program is very limited and available for only 4 to 6 anglers per trip maximum. Fly into Balmaceda and we will take care of the rest.
